Main events organized by AKSTS CIS since 1991

Feb 7–8, 2006. Russian—Korean Science and Technology Seminar took place in Moscow. The Korean scientists participated in the seminar arrived from Vladivostok, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Voronezh, Moscow Region. The detailed information about the seminar is available on the Seminar page.

2002 – The World Congress of Korean and Korean Ethnic Scientists and Engineers-2002, July 8-13 2002, Seoul, Korea. Organized by KOFST and Sponsored by KOSEF. The delegation of scientists from CIS will take participation in this conference. Details on the official site of KOFST. In same terms the annual world meeting of KOFST will be held in Seoul.

1991-1993 – Measures, directed on AKSTS coming into being, staff elaboration, structure development, managing officials election, adjusting an interaction between sections and KOFST, themes working up and long-term planning.

1994 – The first scientifically practical workshop, Moscow.

The second scientifically practical workshop, Moscow.

1995 - International conference on leading electronic technologies, Moscow.

1996 – International scientifically practical conference on chemistry “Chemistry today and tomorrow”, Moscow.

1997 – International scientifically practical conference dedicated to the 60-th anniversary of Koreans deportation to Kazakhstan, Alma-Aty.

1998 – participation in exhibition “Leading technologies of Russia”, Seoul.

1999 – participation in the worldwide symposium of KOFST, Seoul.

2000 – International conference “Uzbekistan – Korea: scientific and cultural cooperation”, Tashkent.

International scientifically practical conference of Moscow STS, Moscow.

2001 – International “Jubilee scientifically practical conference”, dedicated to the tenth anniversary of creation. Two more large-scale events in the life of Korean scientific Diasporas of the world – the meeting of AKSTS CIS and the annual world meeting of KOFST – were timed to this affair, Moscow, the Presidium of Russian Academy of Sciences.

Over 150 persons from more than 13 countries took part in the Jubilee conference. There were listened above 100 reports on four sections:

Informatics and telecommunications, chairman – Kim N.V., the professor.

Energy and ecology, chairman – Tsoi A.D., the professor.
Medicine, biotechnologies, genetic engineering, chairman – Ten V.P., the professor.

Common of all sciences directions, chairman – Tsai T.N., the professor.
Besides this, AKSTS regularly conducts other actions, such as annual summer three-month probation of young scientists and specialists at Korean companies and Research institutes, giving a help to south-korean students and graduate students, educating in countries of C.I.S., help and consultations to Korean businessmen. AKSTS takes part in organization of short business trips of students, graduate students and young businessmen, being organized by OKF – Overseas Koreans Foundation.

In 1991-1996 AKSTS actively participated in the Brain-pool programs.
